M.Sc. in Nutritional Sciences - Program Outline

The M.Sc. framework is intended for holders of a B.Sc. in nutrition, food sciences or related subjects, who wish to specialize in nutritional sciences and food, attaining an M.Sc. in Nutritional Sciences.

This is an intense, 3-semester (October - September) program comprising 46 study credits, including a research exercise.

The curriculum includes courses in advanced theoretical and basic applied nutritional sciences, with an emphasis on the former. Food Science and other related topics are also included in the program.

Graduates of the program receive an M.Sc. degree in Nutritional Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Those attaining a high level of achievement are eligible to transfer to the thesis-stream for an additional year conducting research and writing and defending a full M.Sc. thesis.

The program is not intended as the basic training of dietitians and does not lead to certification as a dietitian in Israel.
