Open Faculty Position


FACULTY POSITION IN SURFACE WATER HYDROLOGY

The Department of Soil and Water Sciences at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in surface water hydrology. Starting date is October 1, 2011. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree, postdoctoral training and research experience in hydrology. Starting rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach, in Hebrew, undergraduate and graduate level courses in surface water hydrology and water resources; supervise graduate students; develop an independent research program using quantitative analytical tools in the field of surface water hydrology, particles and chemical transport and their interactions with the soil saturated and unsaturated zones; demonstrate scientific leadership; obtain competitive research grants; and contribute to department and faculty activities.

המחלקה למדעי הקרקע והמים בהפקולטה לחקלאות, מזון וסביבה ע"ש רוברט ה. סמית של האוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים מכריזה על קיומה של משרה אקדמית בתחום ההידרולוגיה של נגר עילי, במסלול הרגיל המקנה קביעות. תחילת המינוי באחד באוקטובר 2011. תישקל מועמדותם של בעלי תואר .Ph.D, לאחר השתלמות בתר-דוקטורלית ובעלי ניסיון מחקרי מוכח בתחום ההידרולוגיה. הדרגה ההתחלתית תקבע בהתאם לכישורי המועמד/ת.

דרישות התפקיד: הנבחר/ת למשרה יידרש/תידרש להורות בעברית לתלמידי בוגר, מוסמך ודוקטור, קורסים בתחום ההידרולוגיה של הנגר העילי ומשאבי המים; להנחות תלמידים לתארים מתקדמים ולפתח מחקר עצמאי ומקורי תוך שימוש בכלים אנליטיים כמותיים בתחומי ההידרולוגיה של הנגר העילי, הסעת חלקיקים וכימיקלים, ויחסי גומלין עם האזור הרווי והבלתי רווי בקרקע. כמו כן ידרשו מנהיגות מדעית, יכולת גיוס כספי מחקר מקרנות מחקר תחרותיות, והשתלבות בכל הפעילות המחלקתית והפקולטאית.
